Mary began her career at the Ministry of Lands, serving as the Registrar of Lands and Deeds before joining Mumba Malila & Partners. She played a pivotal role in landmark cases such as the Supreme Court case of Kasote Singogo v. Lafarge Zambia Plc. She has been actively involved in shaping legal policies, particularly in land rights and corporate governance in Zambia.

  • Lead counsel in the Supreme Court’s landmark case of Kasote Singogo v. Lafarge Zambia Plc on the calculation of pre- and post-judgment interest.
  • Authored a draft project proposal on Security of Tenure under Customary Land, presented at the SADC International Training Program.
  • Lead Zambian legal expert on the study for recording rural rights under the Zambia Integrated Forest Landscape Project (ZIFLP).
  • Mary is a recognized thought leader in the legal community, having contributed to 5 major legal publications and spoken at numerous national and international forums. Her work focuses on land rights, corporate governance, and enhancing access to justice.
